DESERT MULE DEER BREEDING STOCK.

We purchased our first mule deer in Oct 2001. This was a Texas Buck that came from Amarillo, Texas from one of the few Breeders that we knew of in the State. These deer were few and far between, so we went to looking out of State and found they were just as scarce.

We did find some in Rock Well City Iowa from S & C Deer Farm. These deer were Rocky Mountain Genetics and we knew the Texas Borders were going to close soon so we purchased all the Mule Deer this farm owned.

These deer meet all requirements from The Texas Animal Health Commission and The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and were inspected on arrival in March of 2005 by the TAHC and TPWD.

These deer were from a   Accredited Chronic Wasting Disease Free Herd and were from a Tuberculosis Accredited Free Herd and also retested for Tuberculosis.

At that time we had our Mule Deer in Lampasas County  along side of Our Whitetail Program. The deer did survive OK in the Hill Country but  We felt these deer needed to be in there natural climate due to the Hot Humid air of Central Texas so we moved the deer to our West Texas Ranch in the Spring of 2006.

Since the deer have done extremely Well.

Our Mule Deer Facility is located in the Awesome Delaware Mountains of Culberson County Texas.

Chronic Wasting Disease Complete Monitored Cervidae Herd, # CWD561TX/06 Level B.

We Lap A I  a few does in the fall of 2005 from some Rocky Mountain Bucks. To our Knowledge this was the first Mule Deer to be Artificial Inseminated in Texas. We had Moderate success and our program is coming along slow but it takes time to grow a herd and know your deer.
