The Texas Mule Deer Hunting Ranch is 47 sections or 30,000 acres north of Van Horn ,Texas in the top of the Delaware Mountains. This is some of the Best Mule Deer Country in Texas. You may book a guided1x2 or 1x1 hunt on this ranch. If you want a 1on 1 guided hunt, these Texas Trophy Desert Mule Deer Hunts are called Select Hunts. Meals and lodging are furnished on all hunts. All hunters should bring there own bedrolls and plenty of warm clothing. TX Mule Deer Hunting is done from jeep or 4 wheel drive and for those in good condition walking and stalk. There are 3 cabins on the ranch with beds for all hunters and a full time cook is furnished. This Texas Trophy Desert Mule Deer Hunting Ranch has produced some of the best Mule Deer in Texas. This Desert Mule Deer Hunt is for the truly dedicated hunter. If you are a shooter or whiner this hunt is not for you! Due to the nature of this desert country each year brings on new challenges. Drought, wind, rain, dust storms, fog,cold and snow all make for the unknown but when it all comes together some of the best Mule Deer in the state are produced on this ranch. All hunters are urged to hunt for only mature 6 to 7 year old bucks and to pass on the young immature ones. These Texas Mule Deer Hunts have run 100% success before but the last couple of years due to mother nature and patience's from hunters to take older bucks these hunts have run 60% to 70% success. We have been under an extensive management program for several year. Also included in this you may take your bag limit of Blue Quail, Javilina,Bob Cats, Coyotes and possibly a Mountain lion.

2007 Results: There was a large amount of bucks seen this year with a good age class of all bucks. Our first 4 hunters were snowed in the first 2 days of there hunt and went home empty handed but all did see some large bucks they could not connect with. Our second hunt was different. The weather broke and was just right. This group of 6 hunters all took home bucks with 4 out of the six being mature and the other two bucks were nice deer. Our third group of Hunter's took 2 bucks out of 8 hunters. One bucks was a mature 6 year old deer and the other was a 4 year old buck that he could just not pass up! These guys are very selective and looking for mature 6 & 7 year old buck. There were several seen that just flat slipped away. There was lots of natural feed and water on the ranch. That always makes the deer alittle tougher to find but we like it that way. There were many good bucks seen that were Passed by hunter's because they were not mature Bucks. There was a lot of 4 and 5 year old bucks that were passed on this past year. These guys are true Trophy Hunter's. We really appreciate these hunter's. All hunter's this year did a great job. We appreciate all of you guys and gal's. Guides were Pat Flanagin,TJ Shipp,Dano Stotts, Lynn Stotts and Tim Cox. Raymond and Luesia Dutchallover did the cooking.(ALL DID A GREAT JOB!) These hunts can be physical, so know your limitations. We are not just deer hunting, we urge every hunter to look for only Mature Bucks, 6 to 7 years old or older. Come and enjoy the hunt knowing you may go home empty handed but with a great experience and the opportunity to take a GREAT DESERT MULEY. If you have never hunted West Texas, its a treat.This hunt is Not for Whiner's or shooter's. This is a Trophy Hunt!
