This Hill Country Ranch consist of Post Oak, Live Oak, Spanish Oak, Mesquite, Cedar, Cypress,Bodark, Red Buds, Walnut and Pecan. The soils are deep and Sandy Loam to deep Blackland. Cedar control has kept the small brushy cedar intact and the large Heart Cedar has been preserved for wildlife cover. Old World Bluestem, Side Oats Gramma, Texas Sue Eastern Gramma, Wilmans Love Grass and Klein Grass have been seeded on the Ranch along with its many Native Grasses such as Lometa Indian Grass, Big Bluestem , Little Bluestem and several Gramma Grasses. This ranch has several areas that would be suitable for a large lake. With only 6 inches of rain from Jan- May 02 the steer calves off this ranch averaged 677lbs.July 03 Steer Calves averaged 703. Indian Artifacts are common on the ranch as Arrow Heads and Spear Heads are often found. One know Indian Mound at Satterfield Springs.
